Katheryne Johnson is a native of Wyandotte County, Kansas City, Kansas now occupying space in Los Angeles, California. While earning a B.A. in Film & Media Arts from University of Missouri-Kansas City, she shot her first short film, Daisy, in 2017. Katheryne was the primary photographer of Khorage Magazine from 2015 to 2018. She has also directed a number of music videos including, Melanin Poppin, by music artist, Khrystal., which has now garnered over forty thousand views on YouTube and has been viral on multiple social media platforms. She has since designed multiple art covers for singles and had directed virtual concerts, and plays.

Katheryne’s most recent work is curating an art show, Solace Solstice, featuring five talented black women artists in June 2022.
